Tap water or bottled water?

The topic "water" now is affecting more and più persone e non solo.
Ormai in tanti discutono, s’informano, riflettono sull’argomento e il motivo è piuttosto comprensibile: l’acqua è il bene primario che permette all’essere umano di vivere.
Provate a fare tramite google la ricerca “acqua da bere”: vengono fuori più di 1,8 milioni di link fra siti internet, blog e quant’altro che trattano di questo argomento.
Dal punto di vista economico l’acqua è un vero e proprio business: le aziende (ma forse sarebbe più corretto parlare di multinazionali) che commercializzano questo prodotto hanno dei margini spaventosi. Non ho dati precisi, ma si stima che un’azienda che “produce” acqua paga la materia prima (cioè l’acqua stessa) 1 euro ogni 1.000 litri, vale a dire 0,001 euro al litro. Il consumatore medio che compra l’acqua al supermercato quanto paga l’acqua? E’ presto detto: 6 bottiglie da 1 litro a seconda della marca oscillano tra i 2 e i 4 euro. Cioè tra 0,33 e 0,67 euro al litro. Facciamo una media e diciamo 0,50 euro al litro.
Osservate: un prodotto che di partenza costa 0,001 euro al litro viene pagato dal consumatore finale 0,50 euro al litro, significa che abbiamo un margine del 500%.
Solitamente si giustificano i margini dei beni alimentari con tutti i passaggi che ci sono tra il produttore e il consumatore finale: dal produttore al grossista, dal grossista al rappresentante, representative from the supermarket (or seller) and the supermarket (or seller) to the final consumer.

Ci sarebbe un altro costo da prendere in considerazione: il costo dei macchinari e dello stabilimento: ma questi sono costi che sono da considerarsi "una tantum" nel vero senso della parola e che nel giro di pochi mesi vengono subito assorbiti dai margini che abbiamo visto prima.
Già questo dovrebbe essere sufficiente per disincentivare le persone a continuare a consumare acqua confezionata in bottiglia, ma vorrei invitarvi ad una seconda riflessione.
L’acqua è un bene che si trova in natura come la frutta, la verdura, ecc.
Ora, se avete a portata di mano una bottiglia d’acqua di qualsiasi marca andate a vedere la data di scadenza. Smettere di bere acqua quando tutti sappiamo che è il nostro bene primario e che da qualsiasi parte del mondo dall’OMS fino all’ultimo dei medici generici ci dicono che dobbiamo berne almeno 2 litri al giorno?
No! Non voglio dire di smettere di bere acqua (potrei essere denunciato di “istigazione al suicidio” :-) ), voglio semplicemente dire che è decisamente meglio bere il più possibile Tap water is definitely more controlled and much cheaper!
